In Court

"The Texas Code of Criminal Procedure states, 'It shall be the primary duty of all prosecuting attorneys, including special
prosecutors, not to convict, but to see that justice is done.'

"When I became District Attorney I took an oath promising to uphold the laws of Texas. Fulfilling this solemn pledge takes years of experience that can only be acquired through hands-on training as a prosecutor. This experience has given me the skill, knowledge and compassion to be District Attorney. It has provided me with a solid foundation in which to administer the office and its employees."
